(Correspondent: Wang Yu Wang, Wang Xiaoxiao) epidemic is an order, and prevention and control is a responsibility. Epidemic prevention makes the Spring Festival in 2020 leave a special memory for every Chinese. "I'm a party member. I'll go first!" "I am a party member, and it is my responsibility to participate in the epidemic prevention work." these voices warm everyone's heart in such a depressed period.

Here is the story of Diao Chenxin's participation in anti-epidemic voluntary activities:

My name is Diao Chenxin. I'm a student of class 031182, applied chemistry major, faculty of materials science and chemistry. I'm from Xiangyang, Hubei Province. On January 8, 2020, I happily sat on the high-speed railway from Wuhan to Xiangyang, but I didn't expect to face the outbreak of the epidemic. On and on, the students around me received a phone call to investigate their physical condition. And I started to isolate myself at home and take my temperature every day. January 20 is my birthday, so I also remember clearly that after that day, new confirmed cases in Wuhan multiplied day by day, and then Wuhan announced the closure of the city. Soon after, cities around Hubei announced the lockdown of the city. My community in the presence of confirmed cases, also began to block.

As a party member, I pay close attention to the epidemic situation all the time. As a Hubei native, I really feel the care and love of the country and all parts of the country for the people in the epidemic area. The policy of "16 provinces, one province support one city in Hubei" issued by the state enables us to have sufficient supplies of basic goods and guarantees basic the requirements of medical staff. Then one day, my father told me that he took part in the volunteer activities of the unit: recycling and sharing bicycles and sending back home people. I immediately yearned for: as a preparatory party member, I should actively respond to the call of the state. Therefore, I took the initiative to contact the community grid members and heard abour that our community is a prevention and control point, and also recruiting party members to be supervisors and dissuaders. So I joined the team without hesitation.

Our job is to register the entry and exit of the community person, measure the temperature, and help the residents to buy vegetable bags. These tasks seem simple, but they need to pay attention to many details. Guarding the entrances and exits is one of the difficulties. We should strictly check the pass of the residents in and out, control the gate, accurately record the access time, and not allow any outsiders to enter the community. I was in trouble shortly after the beginning. An aunt wanted to ride a tram into the community to deliver dishes to relatives. There were so many foods that it was inconvenient to take them down again. I stopped her in accordance with the regulations, and she was a little angry. She said that she didn't get sick why she can’t come in, and the delivery of vegetables did not bother others. For a while, I was speechless. At this time, the party members and comrades on duty explained to her patiently and reasonably. Aunt asked relatives to come down and take their own foods. When buying vegetable bags, we should help the residents to line up and make enough space to avoid piling up. We also need to do a good job of persuasion when the residents think that the vegetable collocation is unreasonable. When people are too busy to come, we should also act as temporary cashiers and distributors.

Although voluntary work occasionally faces conflicts, it brings me more sense of achievement and moving. At first, I didn't know how to use infrared thermometers. Sometimes a resident's temperature was measured several times, but they didn't get impatient, but they cooperated patiently with the work. Sometimes they were arranged to stand guard at noon, the party members and comrades on duty would let me go home for dinner first. The security uncle took the initiative to take onsuch heavy physical work ascarrying vegetables. One day, the disposable gloves were so stuffy that the hands were all sweaty, and wearing masks made the breathing harder. Our voluntary activities were still like this, from this let us know how hard the front-line medical staff needed to bear.

In this outbreak, I have deeply realized the strong leadership of the party and the state, the courage of party members to take on responsibilities and the unity of the Chinese people. "A little heat, a little light, like a firefly, can shine in the dark without waiting for the torch." As a probationary party member, I am well versed in the truth and hope to do my part to strengthen the volunteer team. I believe that under the leadership of the party, this anti epidemic war will surely end in victory. What will greet us will be to see the sun through the clouds and flowers in spring.
