Team of Advanced Coatings and New Energy Materials & Devices


The team of advanced coatings and new energy materials & devices consists of six teachers, namely Professor Hongyun Jin, Professor Shuen Hou, Professor Shuoguo Yuan, Professor Shuo Huang, Associate Professor Jianhe Hong, and teacher Huacai Jin.

The research team leader is Professor Hongyun Jin. Our team adheres to the guiding ideology that scientific research must serve the major needs of the country, and focuses on the two topics of Ceramic coatings and solid-state energy devices. The team has carried out work along the main line of material design-material preparation-material engineering-device intelligent manufacturing-application engineering verification. The self-owned equipment of the team includes SPS discharge plasma sintering furnace, Braun glove box, 3D printer, jet mill, high energy ball mill, various high and low temperature sintering furnaces, atmosphere furnaces and other materials and device preparation equipment, in-situ X-ray diffractometer, German Zana electrochemical workstation and other testing instruments.

In recent years, the team has successively received support from Major Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program of China, Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project of Hubei Province, Key Research and Development Program of Hubei Province, and Enterprise Cooperation Project. The research funds received in recent five years are more than ten million RMB. The team has made a breakthrough in the stranglehold technologies of ceramic coatings. Breaking through the common problem of insufficient grouting, the developed prestressed pipe grouting materials have been successfully applied to national key projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The team members have published more than 90 SCI papers in the above fields and obtained more than 30 authorized national invention patents. The research results of the team have won the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology for five times.
